Episode 33: The Red Crush

“We dive into the toolbox and take a closer look at some of the new cards in Goblins Vs Gnomes and somebody do a ready check! It’s time to raid again in WoW!”

World of Warcraft

Community manager Lore and Mike B. talked about some of the reasons why WoD was delayed, the DDoS-attack and what 10 millions subscribers does to the servers on the latest episode of their podcast “Don’t get your hopes up”.

On December 3rd you will be able to adopt a space goat through the battle.net or the in game shop. 100 % of the earnings from the battle pet goes to the American Red Cross for ebola relief efforts.

It’s raid time again so better get those raid lock outs under the belt. Blizzard has posted a quick recap on how they work.

Hearthstone

The season 9 card back has been released and is created with gnomish engineering. So get to rank 20 in the season where the expansion will hit to require this card back.

Blizzard and Hearthstone is nominated for the game awards this year and you can watch the show on December 5th.

You can also take a sneak peek at the newest cards released for the expansion.

Heroes of the Storm

On Thursday December 4th you can ask the developers anything when they are having an AMA on reddit.

Episode 32: Loot Drama

“The launch of Warlords of Draenor haven’t been the best expansion launch but we managed to get through. The pitchforks are back in the barn… for now.”

Starcraft 2

Even though you are a pro starcraft player you can’t just say anything you like which this player found out when he tweeted he was about to rape his opponent.

Heroes of the Storm

Over on the official site for Heroes of the Storm John Hodgson has made a blog post about how they stay true to the characters when designing new heroes.

And speaking of design. The winter veil skins has just been released on the site as well and they look very jolly!

World of Warcraft

There has been ups and downs following the launch of Warlords of Draenor. The launch had some troubles because of a DDOS attack which made logging in harder than it should be. Another reason for long queues and login trouble was due to the fact that the expansion has brought in loads of both returning and new players. This means the subscription number is back up to about 10 millions active accounts. But Blizzard did apologize for the not so great launch so they decided to give the players almost a week worth of free game time. Apology accepted.

Blizzard did start a little storm themselves when they first reverted the new personal loot system for 5 man dungeons to old need/greed system. Even more people got upset about this change so the pitchforks found they way back onto the forums and Twitter so Blizzard decided to revert the revert.

Episode 31: A Warlord’s Welcome

“We’ve assaulted the Dark Portal and set foot in Draenor just in time to mark 10 years of WoW, and soon there will be even more RnG in Hearthstone.”

Hearthstone

Don’t you just hate when you lose in Hearthstone due to bad RNG? Blizzard talks a bit about that in this interview over at PC Gamer.

The continued effort to rid Hearthstone of bots is continuing.

World of Warcraft

It’s really easy to upset people these days. A random placed quote in the 10 year anniversary documentary brought forth the pitchforks on the EU forums.

A cool advertising for Warlords of Draenor in New York on Time Square happened right before the launch. But it doesn’t stop there. Gazlowe Realty wants to sell you a nice little summer Garrison in Draenor.

And it’s this week that the game has it’s 10 year birthday and it’s being celebrated with some nice in game content.

We also talk about flying and Draenor and if it’s actually needed. What do you think? Hit us up on Twitter on @tbrpodcast or mail us at thebluereclusepodcast@gmail.com

Episode 30: David M. Adams Tweeted Me A Picture

“Thank god there isn’t that much news after this years Blizzcon. We might actually have to shorten the show today.”

We are talking about all the goodies that got announced at Blizzcon.

The big announcement was their new game Overwatch which is a multiplayer FPS. The whole announcement was just so amazing and what we saw so far looked awesome.

The eternal struggle between Goblins and Gnomes will be the main theme of the new expansion for Hearthstone.

Loads of new things for the up coming patches of Diablo 3 which included new legendaries, new area, new season, just new stuff.

Legacy of the Void is the new expansion for Starcraft 2 and we did get a sneak peek at what’s in store.

A few new heroes and new battlegrounds was also announced for Heroes of the Storm – including a beta date for January already.

Also a big thanks to all the people I tweeted with during Blizzcon. Was super fun to live tweet and thanks for the picture you sent me David M. Adams from the Overwatch booth at Blizzcon.

The “Thom is in Canada” segment has music from bensound.com

Episode 29: The Pre-Blizzcon Show

“This is the Pre-Blizzcon Show – and we will talk about a lot of stuff we know nothing about yet; including hopes and predictions.”

Hearthstone

Blizzard have been busy banning accounts the past few weeks. People who have been botting or win trading have been banned and Blizzard have thereby promoted fair play and no cheating in Hearthstone.

There’s some speculations to what the new Hearthstone expansion will contain and the recent trademarking of Eye of Azshara has been stirring up some more speculations.

World of Warcraft

Together with the launch of the oceanic World of Warcraft servers there also was an Q&A which brought up topics as new blood elf models, server delay and the future of dungeons.

General Blizzard

Geoff Kneighley, the host of the Blizzcon live stream, has been teasing us saying we should look forward to the opening ceremony for Blizzcon. Personally I’m hoping for an announcement of Overwatch, whatever that might be.

Last Orders

Blizzard have promoted the Podcast(ish) youtube channel about the Nerdlords of Draenor. I found it really entertaining and cool with a new take on how you can do a podcast. They play through the WoD dungeons/starting zone so beware of spoilers!

Episode 28: G’Day Mate!

“Grab your surfboard because WoW is going down under. Metallica will be thrashing Blizzcon but not before a mystery is solved.”

General Blizzard

It’s the mighty Metallica who is playing at the closing ceremony at Blizzcon. Remember even if you don’t have tickets for the real thing you can still watch it with the virtual ticket. I’m wondering if they will be playing St. ‘Sha’ of Anger.

Others have noticed the same thing as I did last week with the missing panels at Blizzcon. They even noticed missing details in the floor planning.

Hearthstone

If you are the owner of an Android phone or tablet then you might be missing out on Hearthstone. Blizzard will change that come 2015 when the game will be out for the Android platform.

World of Warcraft

You will now be able to hunt crocodiles from your home computer if you are from Australia or New Zealand. Blizzard are setting up servers in Australia which should give a smoother game play for those affected.

In a recent interview with Ion Hazzikostas he said that unless something significantly changes there should be 10 more years of World of Warcraft.

If you like the rest of us have experienced any connectivity issues with the latest patch then there’s good news. These issues should be solved now. If you still are having issues you should contact the Blizzard support team so they can get it fixed.

A new patch will be added tomorrow to prepare for the launch of Warlords of Draenor. Hopefully it wont break as much as the 6.0.2 did.

Episode 27: World Server Down

“The latest World of Warcraft patch hit a bit harder than expected. It knocked out a few servers. Maybe see if you can get a spot in Heroes of the Storm instead?”

Heroes of the Storm

If you are in the alpha you get a chance to win access to all your battle.net friends. If you aren’t in the alpha? Well, then you also get a chance to win.

World of Warcraft

With an expansion on the horizon and the passing of summer the World of Warcraft subscription numbers are up.

If you haven’t killed Garrosh yet or if you’ve just been unlucky with the heirloom weapon drops you now get a 100 % chance to win a weapon.

General Blizzard

If you got the virtual ticket for Blizzcon you now also have access to the online merchandise store.

Episode 26: On The Horizon

“The Nexus has been rebooted and is ready for battle. The Iron Tide is upon us in World of Warcraft. And Blizzcon is just around the corner.”

World of Warcraft

Seems that we won’t see darker nights in all zones yet as only the worst offenders gets darkened.

But the big pre-expansion-patch will hit the servers this week so expect a lot of changes when those servers are back up.

Heroes of the Storm

A large patch hit the Heroes alpha last week which brought loads of new stuff to the Nexus.

If you were in the alpha you also had a chance to brawl with the blues. If you weren’t in the alpha or just weren’t lucky enough to play against them don’t fret. There’s video proof.

General Blizzard

The full schedule has now been released for those of you who are attending Blizzcon either in reality or virtually.

Episode 25: Now you see me

“A spooky card back awaits us as a reward in this season of Hearthstone.. and what’s this? Goblins on my minimap in Diablo? Let’s hunt!”

Hearthstone

To celebrate Halloween the seventh season of Hearthstone will have a Hallow’s End themed card back. So get to rank at least 20 in this season to get your hands on it.

And just to make it a bit extra spooky was the Naxxramas board added to the rotation in both normal play and in arena mode.

World of Warcraft

The PVP season is about to end so now is the time to make that last push to be the among the best PVP’ers in the world. Or maybe just to get those last items you need.

Diablo 3

Haven’t we all tried to miss a treasure goblin and not realizing that we pulled it until it was too late? The newest treasure goblin changes in Diablo should make it more clear when a goblin is near.

General Blizzard

Are you also a fan of the original Warcraft games but sad that you can’t play them on newer computers? Seems like Warcraft 3 is about to hit Battle.net.

Last orders

Thom was browsing Reddit and came across people creating their favorite Hearthstone cards in MS Paint. Some are amazing ones… and some are so bad it’s hilarious!

You can also win a World of Warcraft pet of your choice. Listen to the podcast to hear how you can win.

Episode 24: Titanfell

“6.0 for WoW might be out this week but there’s something at Blizzard that won’t be out as a new ghost enters the graveyard of games.”

General Blizzard

After seven years of production Blizzard finally decided to cancel Titan. It’s probably not a shocker since the earlier announcement that the game was being reevaluated. So we’ll probably never find out what Titan was going to be about, but there are some pretty good guesses out there.

If you are a fan of Blizzcon but can’t make it this year, you are probably going to buy the Virtual Pass. It has now been revealed what game rewards you will get when you buy the ticket.

Diablo 3

The Blood Shard prices for Kadala’s shop items has gone up. But luckily so has the chance to get those sought after legendary items.

World of Warcraft

Did you delete a character by mistake (or maybe in a nerd rage) then you can easily undelete it with the new restore my character in-game tool.

The last episode of Lords of War is out and this time it’s staring Maraad the Draenei who accompanied Wrynn in the previous videos. And don’t sweat it Maraad, we’ve all messed up the occasional escort quest.
